Here are the directions from some different airports. Depending on your country of departure, you could benefit from very interesting low cost prices when flying either to Torino or Milan.
From Turin Airport (CASELLE)
Caselle Turin Airport is about 15 km north of the centre of Torino. Taxi is the most convenient and fast way to get from the airport to the centre, taking around 30 minutes, and costing about 40 €. The public taxi rank is located on the left at the exit of the Arrivals level.
There is a shuttle bus every 15 minutes (bus company ‘Sadem’) from the airport to the centre, one way ticket is 6 €, and it takes around 35 minutes to arrive to Porta Nuova railway station. From there, please follow directions as above. Timetable.
A low cost bus company (‘Terravision’) connects the airport to Porta Nuova railway station. It costs 5€ but trips are less frequent. Timetable.
A railway connects the airport to Turin GTT Dora Railway Station in 19 minutes. The railway station is located few metres away from the air terminal. Train departures are every 30 minutes: from 5.04 to 23.09 to the airport. Ticket is € 3.40 and the trip takes 19 minutes. Pay attention to buy the ticket before getting on the train! Cuneo-Torino Levaldigi Airport is about 50 km south of the centre of Torino. The airport is connected to the city of Torino through trains and buses.
Bus departures are connected to the flight arrivals (further information). The shuttle connects the airport to the Torino Lingotto railway station, the trip costs 11€ and it takes around 1 hour.
Levaldigi Airport is connected to Torino by train, with a frequency of 30 minutes. A shuttle service is available from the airport to Fossano railway station. It cost 7€. Malpensa is halfway between Milano and Torino. If you arrive at Malpensa, the best way to reach Torino is by bus. The bus operators ‘Sadem’ and ‘Autostradale’ run a shuttle service from Milan Malpensa Airport (one-way ticket €18), which takes 2 hours to arrive to Porta Susa railway station. Transport service is subjected to compulsory reservation. The ticket can be bought trough credit card from the website www.sadem.it. Timetable.
Linate Airport is about 8 km East of the center of Milan. If you arrive at Linate the best way to get to Turin is by bus to Milan Central Railway Station and then take the train to Torino (Porta Nuova).
There is an airport bus service STARFLY – providing buses every 30 minutes both to the airport and to the station (one-way ticket is 2 €). In Linate the stop is just outside the exit from Arrivals; the first bus leaves at 6.05 am and the last at 11.35pm. In Milan Central Station the bus-stop is on your left as you exit the station, and the first bus leaves for Linate at 5.40 am and the last at 9.35pm. Trains run between Turin and Milan every hour, the trip time depends on train category: from 1 hour to 2 hours 30 minutes. The cost of the ticket is between 8€ and 45€ depending on train category and speed.
Orio al Serio is about 50 km East of the center of Milan. If you arrive at Orio al Serio the best way to reach Torino is catching the bus to Milan Central Railway Station and then taking the train to Torino (Porta Nuova).
There are two bus companies, ‘Autostradale’ and ‘Orioshuttle’ that provide buses between Orio al Serio Airport and Milano railway station every 30 minutes. The cost is about 10€ and the trip takes about 60 minutes. More information and timetable.
From the main railway station (Porta Nuova) exit in Corso Vittorio Emanuele. Take the underground, direction Lingotto Station, for 2 stops (until Nizza stop), walk in the same direction, along Via Nizza for about one block and you will find the Molecular Biotechnology Center (MBC) on your right.
From Porta Susa Railway Station take the underground, direction Lingotto Station, for 5 stops (until Nizza stop), walk in the same direction, along Via Nizza for about one block and you will find the Molecular Biotechnology Center (MBC) on your right.
From Lingotto Railway Station take the underground, direction Fermi, for 4 stops (until Nizza stop), walk in the opposite direction, along Via Nizza for about one block and you will find the Molecular Biotechnology Center (MBC) on your right.
From the “GTT Dora Railway Station” exit in corso Mortara, walk up to the slope until you are in via Stradella.Turn left and reach the bus stop #361. Take bus number 52 towards Largo Adua. Get off in front of Porta Nuova railway station (it is about 25 minutes and 13 stops). From Porta Nuova, please, follow direction as above.
It takes 26 minutes to walk from Porta Nuova railway station, along Via Nizza, to the Molecular Biotechnology Center.
By car
Coming from Milan, leave the motorway at Corso Giulio Cesare. Pass the first roundabout (on the left you can see the supermarket AUCHAN) and turn left at the next roundabout at the IVECO factory. Continue on this road and at a certain point you arrive at a traffic light where you can only turn right or left; turn left and then immediately right on Corso Casale (towards the city centre). Go straight, passing two bridges on your right (at the second one you can see the round church of the ‘Gran Madre’ on you left). Go straight on until the next bridge, turn right on this bridge and carry on for about 1.5 km, taking care to stay in the right-hand lane in order to turn left on Via Nizza (before arriving at Porta Nuova railway station). Carry on straight on Via Nizza and you will find the Molecular Biotecnology Center (MBC) on your right after the 5th traffic light. It takes around 1 hour 45 minutes to drive to the MBC
From the motorways of Savona or Piacenza-Brescia, exit the motorway at Corso Unità d´Italia and go straight for 8-9 km. Turn left at the first traffic light after the underpass on Corso Dante, and continue until the second traffic light at the intersection of Corso Dante with Via Nizza, then turn right. The Molecular Biotechnology Center is on the left in the third block next to a church.
From the motorway of Aosta (coming from the Monte Bianco tunnel or from the Great St Bernard tunnel) or from the motorway of Bardonecchia (coming from the Frejus tunnel) take the beltway south, exit the motorway at Corso Unità d´Italia and go straight for 8-9 km. Turn left at the first traffic light after the underpass on Corso Dante, and continue until the second traffic light at the intersection of Corso Dante with Via Nizza, then turn right. The Molecular Biotechnology Center is on the left in the third block next to a church.
